Sound OffFeedback requested on fines & fees

In September 2012, the Commission approved changes to fines and fees, raising overdue fees for DVDs to $1.00 per item per day. As part of what is planned to be an annual review of fines and fees, and in response to staff and patron feedback, the Commission is now reviewing this policy.  Under consideration is reducing the overdue fee for DVDs to $.50 per item per day.

You can send your thoughts about this via email. You can also send feedback by mail to Library Commission, 211 E Street, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, you can attend a Commission meeting and make public comment, or you can make public comment at any Library Advisory Board meeting.

International Wine Research Database

International Wine Research Database logo

New from our own Sonoma County Wine Library, a great source for your research on viticulture, enology, and more!

International Wine Research Database (IWRDB) at iwrdb.org provides indexing and abstracting of articles on wine, winemaking, grapegrowing, the wine business and the history of wine.

Beginning in the 1980s as a clippings file, IWRDB received an initial grant forming winefiles.org, and the latest grant (2013–2014) has brought it to another exciting level. The items in the database include citations, abstracts and links to articles in the technical, academic, trade and consumer wine magazines and journals. There are also citations and summaries for newspaper articles, government documents, press releases, advertising brochures and other ephemera dealing with wine.

This project is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. In addition, the project has been supported, financially and otherwise, for many years by the Wine Library Associates of Sonoma County and by several wine industry groups.
