Nominate a Business Leader for the 2007 Leaders of the North Bay Awards

“The North Bay Leadership Council (NBLC) has announced that nominations are now open for their first annual 2007 Leaders of the North Bay Awards. Sexual Harassment Prevention Workshop

“This two-hour training session satisfies California law for required training for organizations with 50 or more employees. California law requires employers with 50 or more employees (including those located outside of California), to provide their managers and supervisors with 2 hours of sexual harassment prevention training. In addition, new hired and newly promoted supervisors/managers must be trained within six months. After January 1, 2006, this training must be renewed every two years.

Your supervisors will learn how to:

  • Identify, resolve and prevent various forms of harassment, including sexual harassment.
  • Differentiate between inappropriate and appropriate conduct in the workplace.
  • Understand how their own actions and decisions can create liability.
  • Take appropriate action when a complaint is made or a rumor is heard.
  • Build a more productive and respectful workplace.”

The Sonoma County Economic Development Board is a business person’s best friend – in addition to publishing industry sector, business confidence and barometer reports, and economic and demographic statistics for Sonoma County, the EDB has an extensive website with links to everything you need to know to do business in Sonoma County. The most recent publication is the upbeat Spring Local Business Confidence report.

The Business Assistance Guide (BAG) will direct you to information and resources for licensing, regulations, tax reporting, professional consulting, business planning, training and technical assistance. It also includes an extensive resource directory and links to Sonoma County Chambers of Commerce and Visitors Centers. BAG is especially useful for new business owners and home-based businesses.
