The Sonoma County Economic Development Board will host a breakfast meeting with a program that will “feature an update on county initiatives and programs during the past year, and the challenges and opportunities in 2008 facing the county. This fifth annual breakfast forum, which sold out last year with more than 500 attendees, is an opportunity to discover how the major issues facing our County will affect our community.

In addition to the State of the County speech delivered by the 2008 Chair of the Board of
Supervisors, the event will feature a special forecast on Sonoma County’s economic future by Steve Cochrane of Moody’s Economy.com. His report will include how Sonoma County can explore opportunities with the changing workforce, growing environmental constraints, and increased international competition. Dr. Cochrane’s talk is part of his work with the Innovation Council. A showcase of County agencies will be open before and after the program.”

For those unable to attend the breakfast, a live web cast of the January 23 presentation may be seen online through the County website at www.sonoma-county.org. This presentation is available to anyone with computer Internet access. For those unable to attend or view the broadcast, check other options available to view the event by calling (707) 565-7170.
