What: A pledge-drive competition to reduce energy use in Sonoma County!
Sonoma County youth of ages 14 to 18 years sign up as teams of 2 to 5 members to inspire community members to sign pledge leaves as a commitment to reduce their energy use. The team that collects the most pledge leaves WINS!
When: Contest will run from July 13th to August 15, 2009
Call them NOW to sign your team up and schedule a 1-hour orientation to collect your contest resource packet (Last date for sign-ups is June 30th)
Why: 1. Because reducing energy use is one of the easiest and best ways to stop climate change!
2. Because you'll get to meet new people in your community!
3. Because it's a fun way to spend your summer!
4. Because there are great prizes!
5. Because everyone wins!
Prizes: $500 scholarship for the winning team!
Prize-filled goody bags for the team that collects 10 "leader pledges"
All team players: Custom made t-shirt with tree graphic
Awards ceremony will be held at the "Leave Your Mark" event in September, with recognition by community leaders and the public.
