The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Review by Sierra, 7th grade, Sebastopol

This is a book about modernized Greek myths.  For example, in the story Olympus is in the Empire State Building and the underworld is under Los Angeles.  Demigods (the children of gods and humans) must go on an exciting quest.  The three main characters:  Percy, Annabeth and Grover go on an adventure together to save Olympus.  For Percy, however, something more might be at stake. I love the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.  I would recommend these books, especially for anyone who is interested in Greek gods, goddesses, and myths.  If you like a good adventure story, read Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book One:  The Lightning Thief.  It had me turning the pages and laughing a lot.
