Moonlight by Rachel Hawthorne
When Kayla was a little girl, her parents were killed in the woods by drunken hunters who thought they had seen a wolf. All her life, Kayla has repressed these horrific memories – until now, when she decides to make peace with her past and embrace the wilderness that she fears and yet loves.
Kayla gets a summer job working as a wilderness guide – in the same forest where her parents were killed all those years ago. She feels an immediate connection with the other wilderness guides – especially with Lucas. Lucas is gorgeous, yet mysterious. She feels a pull toward him, but at the same time she can’t read his feelings for her. When he saves her life – for the second time – she realizes the truth: Lucas is a werewolf.
Kayla’s life is going to change this summer, but she has no idea how much.
This is the first book in a trilogy by Rachel Hawthorne. The book had a great pace with action and romance. I thought it was much better werewolf story than Shiver. I can’t wait to read the second book in the trilogy, Full Moon.
