My favorite characters are Scarlett’s mother from Gone With the Wind and Pollyanna. Scarlett’s mother is a very strong woman, but not as mean as Scarlett. She is as kind as Melanie but very strong, running the household on her own and nursing all the folks on the whole plantation. I really appreciate Pollyanna’s way of trying to find something good in any situation. If you read the book I think that you will find she is not as sappy as the term has come to imply. She just knows that in any situation there is something to be grateful for. Things are tough here at the library, but I have a job that I love and that brings me a paycheck.
