Monster Make-Up!

Last Friday 14 teens went to Rohnert Park's Monster Make-Up Program.  They met with an theater make-up artist who showed them how to do a zombie, gargoyle and fairy.  Here are some photos from this event:

Free Pumpkin Carving Contest for Teens!
(Ages 12 to 19)

We supply the pumpkins…you supply the creativity!

These branches will be hosting the pumpkin carving contest for teens:

Windsor, Saturday, October 20th at 2 pm
Sebastopol, Tuesday, October 23rd at 4 pm
Cloverdale, Thursday, October 25th at 3 pm
Healdsburg, Thursday, October 25th at 4 pm
Rohnert Park, Tuesday, October 30th at 3:30 pm

Contestants will have 1 hour to carve pumpkins.
Library patrons will vote for their favorite pumpkin.
Prizes awarded to the top three pumpkins.

The format for our summer reading program is new this year!  Go to your local library the week of June 5th* to pick up a bingo card!  

Once you complete one row on the bingo card you will earn a free paperback book!

Complete 5-in-a-row and get a raffle ticket for cool prizes.

Pumpkin Carving Contest at Sebastopol!

The Sebastopol branch hosted their first pumpkin carving contest for teens!  20 teens participated and 12 pumpkins were carved.  The public will get a chance to vote on their favorite pumpkin all next week.  If you would like to vote add a comment with your favorite pumpkin and your vote will be included in the tally.  Check out the other pumpkin carving contests at the Healdsburg branch on Tuesday, October 25th @ 3:30 and at the Rincon Valley branch on Wednesday, October 26th @ 3:30.

Next week is Teen Read Week 2011!  The Rincon Valley Library is celebrating by hosting a "Books Into Movies" Festival October 19th through October 21st!   

Come watch a movie at 3:30 next Wednesday, Thursday & Friday at the Rincon Valley Library!

Summer Reading starts June 1st!!!

Fun at the Healdsburg Library

The teens at the Healdsburg Library are having fun this summer.  In addition to the summer reading program, teens have participated in origami and crafts such as bleach effect t-shirts and food creations.  That’s not to mention summer movies and fun with the Nintendo Wii.

Teen Lounge @ Healdsburg Public Library

Come hang out in the Library on Mondays after school from 3-5pm. We’re showing movies on the big screen, playing board games, shredding on Guitar Hero and burning rubber with Mario Cart. Snacks and drinks provided. Everything’s free, no membership or library card required, though we do hope you’ll get a library card to check out a book now and then.
