  1. To all people who hope to publish a book:

You may find it helpful to use a literary agent. He or she can help you find the right publishing house for your book and will help you negotiate contracts. Publishing houses will want to claim many rights, most often including audio/visual and movie rights. Meaning, as author of the book that became a movie you will make little to no profit. You’ll probably want to keep those rights.

However, beware! There is NO certification for literary agents. Anyone can claim to be one. Good signs of a bad agent: asking for lots of money up front, such as reading fees and editing fees.

    Best of luck.

  2. any of the books written by meg cabot are really good but especially like 1-800-WHERE-R-U series!! :)

  3. I would definitely recommend The Adoration of Jenna Fox. The author writes very vividly, and it has a fascinating plot and great characters!
