Local History: Life with Jack and Charmian LondonWalter H. Roeder reads from his paper Saturday, September 6 at 2 p.m. From 1907 to 1915, Jack London and his wife Charmian employed Yoshimatsu Nakata as a valet. In the 1930s Barry Stevens, a psychologist and author, met Nakata in Hawaii where he was practicing dentistry. She worked with him to document his recollections of life with the Londons. Walter Roeder is a volunteer in the Petaluma History Room and a volunteer SSU archivist. About the Jack London Collection at Sonoma State University Library Made in Petaluma: Quilts by Jeanette Rose FerrickShowing now through Labor Day Jeanette Rose Ferrick, a resident of Petaluma for 45 years, made 31 quilts in her lifetime. On display in the Petaluma Library are sixteen of Jeanette Ferrick’s quilts, courtesy of her daughter, Marilyn Ferrick.
