| Author Joelle B. Burnette will read from her book "Cancer Time Bomb: How the BRCA Gene Stole My Tits and Eggs". Balancing a serious subject with sarcasm and humor, this powerful story chronicles Joelle’s 3-year odyssey as she justifies slicing away healthy parts of her body that have high odds of producing cancer. Burnette’s saga of her own wrenching decision to proactively remove her breasts is chronicled. At times bitter, angry, but hopeful, it is a compelling and honest portrayal of a choice that may face each of us as gene research provides the opportunity for increased control of our own health and future. Copies of Ms. Burnette's book will be available for sale and a book-signing will be held about the author's talk. For more information, please go to Cancertimebomb.com The program will be held in the Helen Putnam Community Room at the Petaluma Library and the public is invited to attend free of charge.
