|Meet the Author - Christopher Riebli|
Christopher Riebli, author of The Body’s Perfect: A Novel in Stories, will be the featured speaker at a Meet the Author program at the Petaluma Regional Library on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2 PM. During the program, Mr. Riebli will read from, discuss and answer questions about his book which was published in July of 2012.
Mr. Riebli is a fifth generation Sonoma County native. His past job history reads like the state’s delinquent tax rolls, but for the past thirty years he’s scratched out a living driving trucks, swinging a hammer, and teaching English at Santa Rosa Junior College. He’s the founding member and lead vocalist of Blue Hotel, a Rhythm and Soul band that plays locally (see www.bluehotelmusic.com). He has lived in Graton, California since 1983.
In The Body’s Perfect: A Novel in Stories readers will get to know “Irv, Dorna, Junior, Jackie and Angelo, the Miller family of Petaluma circa 1956 and in the two decades that follow. Who better to introduce you than Chris Riebli who has known them all his life, who is intimately familiar with their work and their dreams, their desires, fears and regrets. Here are twelve unsentimental tales told with loving attention and perfect pitch. These Millers of Petaluma belong to Chris Riebli in the way that Winesburg, Ohio belongs to Sherwood Anderson, or as the Salinas Valley belongs to John Steinbeck." Daniel Coshnear, author of Jobs & Other Preoccupations.
The program will be presented in the Helen Putnam Community Room of the Petaluma Regional Library located at 100 Fairgrounds Drive in Petaluma. Copies of The Body’s Perfect: A Novel in Stories will be available for sale and a book signing will follow the author’s remarks. The public is invited to attend the program, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Petaluma Library, free of charge.
