Complete Description: | |
| Local landscape designer Cathy Edger will present a program entitled "An Afternoon in Italy's Gardens" Ms. Edger will show a slideshow of Italy’s garden styles throughout the centuries and will talk about how we can borrow ideas from looking at the "grand" gardens of Italy for our own gardens. Since Sonoma and Marin counties have a Mediterranean climate, Cathy says that we can grow many of the plants that are used In Italian gardens. The slideshow will include historic Italian gardens in the Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic styles. Seminars and garden tours sponsored by the Bay Friendly program, San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum, and the Garden Conservancy help keep Cathy aware of current trends. She is an active member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) and is a North Bay District board member. Free and open to all. | |
