Ed Frankel was born in Philadelphia in 1945 and became involved seriously with poetry in his early twenties at the Artists' Workshop in Detroit. He earned a B.A. from Antioch University and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from UCLA. Ed divides his time between his home in rural Sonoma County and in Los Angeles, where he teaches writing as a faculty member of the UCLA English Department Writing Programs. As adjunct faculty at Antioch University Los Angeles, he teaches writing, literature, poetry, and creative nonfiction for the B.A. and M.F.A. Programs.
