Gerald Rosen was a novelist, the author of seven books. He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), Business and Economics (Wharton MBA), and American History and Literature (MA, Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania.) For 25 years he ran the fiction writing program at California State University, Sonoma, north of San Francisco. He did not come from educated people. He grew up in The Bronx where the only professional person he knew was his uncle Lenny, who lived upstairs and was an armed robber. His uncle was also the local cub scout leader because he was the only man on the block with free time.
