Jonah Raskin lives in Santa Rosa and is the author of fourteen books, many of them about Sonoma County and northern California. These books include: Field Days: A Year of Farming, Eating and Drinking Wine in California; and Marijuanaland: Dispatches from an American War. He is the editor of The Radical Jack London: Writings on War and Revolution. He has also written a book about local writers entitled Natives, Newcomers, Exiles, Fugitives: Northern California Writers and Their Work. From 1981 to 2011, he taught in the communication studies and the English departments at Sonoma State University and published biographies of Abbie Hoffman and Allen Ginsberg, both from the University of California Press. He is the author of six poetry chapbooks. The most recent is Rock 'n' Roll Women: Portraits of A Generation.
