Type of Event:
Please join us at the Cloverdale Library for an afternoon reading by Michelle Wing, author of Body on the Wall.
Untangling the many threads that make up a life, Wing writes about being a daughter, violence against women and girls, mental illness, her identity as a lesbian, her love for her wife, and the search for spiritual direction. Beyond this, in each poem, whether it is one of pleasure or pain, there is evident an underlying trust that language and the beauty of words can provide salvation.
Michelle was raised in Montana, but has spent much of her adult life in the urban settings of Seattle, Japan and San Francisco. She now lives in the country, in northern California, where she writes a monthly literary column for Sonoma West Times & News.
This event is free and open to everyone.
There will be a book signing after the reading. Books will be available for purchase.
