The Sonoma County Wine Library began as the dream of Millie Howie (1922–2011), who founded the Sonoma County Wine Library 25 years ago. After a pioneering career in San Francisco broadcasting, she became one of the first public relations professionals in the North Coast wine industry. She helped found the Russian River Wine Road (now known as The Wine Road), out of which came the impetus for the Sonoma County Wine Library. She worked tirelessly to make the Wine Library a reality. Millie was a columnist for the Healdsburg Tribune for over 30 years, wrote for dozens of wine and other publications, edited and published her own magazine, and authored several books. Join us as we celebrate Millie’s dream and the hard work of wine experts, wine producers, and wine enthusiasts over the past 25 years to create a permanent resource and archive for wine-related ephemera.
