About the Friends
The Friends of Santa Rosa Libraries help support Santa Rosa's libraries — Central, Rincon Valley, and Northwest — as well as the History and Genealogy Library. As a non-profit, volunteer organization, the Friends work to promote interest in the services of the libraries and to raise money that supplements funding of library collections, facilities, and activities.
In its over 40-year history, the Friends group has raised more than a million dollars that has been used to purchase traditional library materials as well as computer equipment, bookshelves, carpet, and other necessities, as well as to support activities such as the Summer Reading Program for children and teens, book groups, and the Adult Literacy program.
The Friends' main fundraising activities are semi-annual Book Faires — known as the biggest and best north of San Francisco — which are held in April and October each year.
Join the Friends
Your donation of books, recorded music, art, and software make the Friends' Book Faires possible. Donations should be dropped off at the Central Library loading dock, off 3rd Street. Please bring donations Tuesday through Saturday during library hours. If you are unable to drop donations off, phone 545-0831, extension 1541, or e-mail email@example.com to arrange a time for a volunteer to pick them up. Please, no magazines, outdated textbooks or lawbooks, or encyclopedias more than 5 years old. More information about how to donate books and materials can be found here.
The Friends have books on sale throughout the year on book carts available inside each of the Santa Rosa libraries during library hours.

Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Hall, 1351 Maple Ave., Santa Rosa (Map)
The Book Faire is located in Santa Rosa, California. Take Highway 101 to Santa Rosa. Exit 101 onto Highway 12, Eastbound, towards Sonoma. Exit Highway 12 at the Downtown exit. Merge onto the surface street, Bennett Valley Road. Turn left on Brookwood Ave. and immediately turn left again onto Maple Ave. The Veterans Memorial Hall is on your right.
If you are coming by Highway 12, Westbound, take the Downtown exit and merge onto the surface street, Maple Ave. After the stoplight at the foot of the exit (Brookwood Road), the Veterans Memorial Hall is in the next block, on your right.

At the Faire: You will find literally thousands of donated books--fiction and nonfiction, current titles and old favorites. Among them are choice art books and cookbooks as well as exceptional bargains in children's books and computer books with CD-ROMs. A large variety of movies on VHS and DVD, books on tape and CD, and music tapes and CDs will also be available at bargain prices.

You'll be helping support the Santa Rosa Libraries (all Faire proceeds benefit the Santa Rosa branches of the Sonoma County Library), while working with a congenial group of other volunteers.
