Yesterday 20 teens participated in the Stuffed Creatures event at the Rincon Valley library. Some teens created ugly dolls, some created cute dolls and one boy created pacman! It was a lot of fun! Here are some of the finished stuffed creatures dolls made yesterday.

Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
Review by Tiffany, Librarian, Rincon Valley
Jessica Packwood is very excited about her senior year of high school. Her excitement is short lived when a new student, Lucius Vladescu, comes into her life posing as a foreign exchange student. Jessica doesn’t know much about her birth, only that her parents adopted her from Romania, her birth parents were killed and her birth name is Antanasia. When Lucius calls her by her birth name AND her parents welcome in this strange boy in their home, Jessica is concerned. She soon learns that she is vampire royalty and a pact was made that she would marry Lucius when she turns eighteen. Jessica is appalled and wants nothing to do with the pact, Lucius, or being a vampire. However, Lucius doesn’t give up easily and moves in with Jessica and her family. Will Jessica embrace her vampire heritage? Will she honor the pact and marry Lucius?
Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, is funny and romantic. Any Twilight fan will love Beth Fantaskey’s story about vampires, teenagers and love.

What is NaNoWriMo?!?
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and its happening this November! Every November there is a challenge to write a whole novel during the 30 days of November. Do you like to write? Have you always wanted to write a novel? Here’s your chance!
This challenge is for all ages! Not just adults. The adult website challenges you to write 50,000 words which is roughly the size of The Great Gatsby. The young writer’s website challenges you to make your own writing goal. If you are over the age of 13 you can join the adult challenge if you wish. You can do the young writer’s challenge if you are under the age of 17. Which one will you go for?
NaNoWriMo doesn’t care about quality writing, they care about quantity. To get the words and ideas down on paper. Its all about output. This allows you to write without worry, to write with no risks, to just write.
To reach the 50,000 word challenge visit http://www.nanowrimo.org/.
