Insurance Institute for Highway Safety- Safety ratings from a non-profit insurance industry organization.
AutoPacific Inc.- Auto industry consultants who compile "vehicle satisfaction scores" based on surveys of new vehicle owners.

Consumer Information Center(CIC)- From Pueblo, CO - yes, the agency with the TV ads. They provide the full text of many of their pamphlets on all sorts of topics from health and cars to gardening and family communication. A good searchable resource.
Contractors State License Board- State of California site offers 10 tips to make sure your contractor is fully qualified.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration- Provides safety ratings for cars and light trucks based on test conducted by this federal agency.
U.S. Consumer Gateway- This very useful site provides access to a broad range of federal information resources available online under categories such as Food, Health, Product Safety, Your Money, and Transportation, with links to other federal web sites containing related information. Contains a ScamAlert section and product recalls.
