Tips for using
- To find only the poems Granger's contains in complete full text, click the "Full
Text Only" option
in the Quick search, or "Only Poems with Text" in the Advanced search.
- Granger's has the complete text of many poems available, but it is mainly
a poem index. It is designed to find you the title of the book
in which a poem was printed.
- Once you have the exact title of the book, you can search our library catalog to see if the book is available in the library.
Contents and features
The web version of the Granger's poetry indexes includes about half a million listings for poems. Over half the listed poems are available in full text for reading online. Other content in Granger's includes poem commentaries, a glossary, approximately 500 poet biographies, and full-text of 14 Columbia University Press titles of poetry history and criticism.
Search: Quick search by poet or poem; Advanced search by author, title, words in poem, subject, gender, language, nationality, poem form, schools and movements, era, and nationality.
Browse: Scan through collections of poetry by era, schools of poetry, language, and "Top 500 Poems."
Listening Room: Browse the audio poem collection by title. Poems are read aloud for listening, and also displayed on the screen for you to read along.
