Chat now with a Librarian
The AskNow chat service is designed to answer brief, factual questions or to suggest sources where you might find the answer. You can ask a librarian anytime, 24 hours a day.
The librarian will be able to "chat" with you in real time and send you web pages via your browser while you are talking. Type your question in the column at the right. The librarian will respond to your question and may ask you questions about the type of information you are seeking. Most questions can be answered in less than 10 to 20 minutes. You can also send pages to your librarian by clicking on the page's links.
Librarians all over California help answer questions, so you may not always get a Sonoma County librarian. For quick answers you may want to call your library branch instead. Branches and phone numbers
System requirements and limitations:
- The service only works with Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape 6.01 or below.
- Mozilla, AOL browsers and WebTV are not supported.
- Mac support is limited. The service can send you web pages but not actually escort you through them.
- Be sure that cookies are turned on.
- Firewalls may have to be turned off in order to chat with a librarian.
