The Sonoma County Library will close on Thursday, December 23 at 2:00 pm, and will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2011.  This closure, with employees having to take a 4.5% pay cut, is part of the Library’s effort to reduce its budget shortfall in these difficult economic times.  Please click here for more information about the ten-day Library closure.

Speak Your Mind @ Rincon Valley

Submitted by teenspace on October 6, 2009 - 5:34pm

Every couple of months the Rincon Valley branch will pose a question to the teens.  Teens can write their answer down to be posted on the the information pillar.  At the end of the summer Rincon Valley asked the question "What was your favorite book this summer?"  Here are the responses in no particular order.

Did you have a favorite book this summer?  Let us know!

Library Card

Do you have one?  If not this is the month to get one!  This card gives you access to free books, magazines, DVDs and more.  If you don't have one hop on down to your local library and fill out a library card application.  If you are under the age of 18 bring a parent with you because they will need to sign the application.  We hope to see you soon!

September is Get a Library Card Month

Submitted by teenspace on September 22, 2008 - 3:24pm

September is Get a Library Card Month. Getting a library card can enhance your life in more ways than one. These days it seems like everything is getting more expensive. Going to a movie with friends can set you back a lot more than it used to. Sometimes you have to choose between paying bills and buying your favorite new CD. And it’s not always possible to pay for a computer and the internet access you need to make the most of your computer. Did you know that your local public library owns all the current movie titles you're dying to see?
