Summer Reading 2020

Summer Reading 2020

DIG IN and READ!

Although we are sheltering at home, we can still explore the world through books and reading. Sign up for Sonoma County Library's 2020 Summer Reading Program for a summer of exploration, learning and fun, even when you are staying at home!

The 2020 Summer Reading Challenge runs from June 1 – August 8, 2020.

We have set a goal for Sonoma County to read two million minutes during the course of the summer reading program, and we are asking each participant to read at least 960 minutes during that time.

We are offering both online tracking through Beanstack and the Beanstack Tracker App, and paper logs. In both types of logging, patrons are asked to record the number of minutes they have read.

How to Participate

It’s easy to enroll and start logging minutes. Enroll yourself by following the easy prompts at sonomalibrary.beanstack.org, or contact us and our staff will get you started.

Paper logs for keeping track of your reading time are also available, or you can use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android and iOS devices; search for “Beanstack Tracker” in the App Store or Google Play. Reading time must be recorded on the Beanstack site by August 8, 2020, to qualify for the challenge.

How To Play – Online

  1. Register: Sign up for a Beanstack account and register for the 2020 Summer Reading program.
  2. Enjoy reading in your favorite format--books, graphic novels, eBooks, audiobooks or eAudiobooks.
  3. Track Your Reading: Each time you read 20 minutes, track the time in your online log. Earn virtual badges in Beanstack for every hour you read. The more you read, the more badges you will receive!
  4. Your Progress: Read 8 hours to earn a FREE BOOK!* Read 16 hours to COMPLETE the challenge, and earn A SECOND FREE BOOK!*
  5. Keep Reading! – you can keep recording reading minutes all summer long to help us reach our goal of two million minutes!
