The ALA Book, Print, and Media Awards are a complete list of the awards given by the American Library Association (ALA) and associated divisions. The book and media awards are announced each year at ALA’s Midwinter Meeting in January.

The Edgar Awards are named after Edgar Allan Poe. The Mystery Writers' Association presents these awards annually. Awards are given for mystery fiction, non-fiction, television, film, and theater.

The National Book Awards is an American literary prize administered by the National Book Foundation. The four award categories include: Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, and Young People's Literature.

National Book Critics Circle Awards annually honor outstanding writing in fiction, nonfiction, biography, autobiography, criticism, and poetry.

The Nobel Prize in Literature is awarded to the person who shall have produced in the field of literature the most outstanding work in an ideal direction. Given for lifetime achievement in literature.

The PEN/Faulkner Award For Fiction is an annual award that honors the best published works of fiction by American citizens in a calendar year.

PEN/Malamud Award is awarded annually and established by Bernard Malamud’s family to honor excellence in the art of short fiction.

Poetry Society of America Annual Awards offers several awards annually to emerging and established poets.

Pulitzer Prizes are awards for American achievements in letters and music. Awards include categories for journalism, letters (fiction, drama, nonfiction, etc.), and music.

The Women's Prize for Fiction (Orange Prize) is awarded to any full-length novel, written in English by a woman of any nationality, provided that the novel is published for the first time in print form the United Kingdom.
