Sonoma County Library’s Summer Reading Challenge celebrates reading, learning, and fun.
Join us on a reading adventure! Keep track of your progress by logging the minutes you read online through Beanstack or by recording them on paper logs.

Earn Up to Three Prize Books
- Read 5 hours (300 minutes) to earn free book #1.
- Read 10 hours (600 minutes) to earn free book #2.
- Read 15 hours (900 minutes) to earn free book #3.
Grand Prize Drawings
Read 15 hours this summer to enter the drawing of your choice. Prizes include:
- Alphabet soft blocks
- Dinosaur MAGNATILES
- Family membership to the Sonoma County Children's Museum
- Instant camera with film
- Telescope
- Family membership to the California Academy of Sciences
* Prizes available to all participating Sonoma County residents, while supplies last. Prizes available for pick-up until September 1, 2024.
** Paper logs accepted through August 10, 2024, to be eligible for prize drawings.
* Collect your prizes at any library location.
Help Your Child Succeed in School
Encourage your child to maintain their reading skills by reading 20 minutes every day. Show your child that reading is a priority by participating in the Summer Reading Challenge together!
Summer Reading is Not Just for Children!
Reading is great for reducing stress, increasing empathy, and strengthening memory and mental acuity. Attend a book club, meet other book lovers, and join our Sonoma County community of readers.
