Reproductions
Reproductions from Local History Collections
We encourage reproductions of our materials, when reproductions will not damage the original or violate any restrictions on the materials.
Use the contact form to request reproductions. Include the photograph number(s) or digital collections identifier(s).
Personal Digital Scans—Research Purposes
You are encouraged to use a digital camera (without flash) for personal research use. Additional equipment, such as personal scanners, tripods or lights, is not permitted, nor is standing on stools or ladders.
The History & Genealogy Library, Wine Library, and Petaluma History Room have an overhead document scanner for public use. Bound materials, such as books and periodicals, and loose archival materials may be scanned onsite using the library’s overhead scanner. See staff for instruction on the proper use of this equipment.
For additional information, refer to the library’s Photographing and Filming Policy.
Digital Collections—Research or Exhibit/Publication Quality
You may download digital content directly from the library’s Digital Collections.
You have the option to download as a PDF, JPEG, or PNG file.
Options for downloading
High Resolution Digital Scans—Exhibit/Publication Quality
You may request a high resolution image if one does not already exist. Scans will be provided at a resolution recommended by FADGI Technical Guidelines for Digitizing Cultural Heritage Materials when possible.
