February is Black History Month, a time to recognize, celebrate, and honor the rich and diverse history, important contributions, and achievements of Black Americans.

Sonoma County Library is having its second annual SCL Teenage Film Festival! Are you an amateur filmmaker? Has TikTok or YouTube awakened your passion for cinema? All Sonoma County teens ages 12 to 19 are invited to compete. Take some time over the winter break to shoot and edit your own 6-minute masterpiece. A jury will review all submitted entries and select films screened at the festival. Prizes will be awarded for the top films.

Sonoma County Library and the volunteer collective SRZF are proud to announce the second annual Santa Rosa Zine Fest (#SRZF2022), a weeklong event in celebration of zines and local talent happening from March 22 to March 26.

There is a new exhibit in the Petaluma Library. Artist and model maker Chris Wall created a myriad of delightful models of Petaluma history.

Bill Soberanes was probably Petaluma’s most legendary character, known far and wide for his rapid-fire speech and quixotic mannerisms. His daily columns were legendary; filled with rambling thoughts highlighting local events from the famous to the mundane, with more than a splash of quirky. This year we mark his 100-year anniversary, and several historians, colleagues and admirers have stepped up to remember.

Our Virtual Pride Club for Teens ages 13-18 continues this month with the theme of queer sports books! Pick out a book from the list below, or choose something else and share it with us.
