About Roseland Regional Library

More than a decade ago, Roseland neighbors and supporters had a vision for a library in Roseland.

Working with the Sonoma County Library, the County of Sonoma, the City of Santa Rosa, the Sonoma County Library Foundation, and hundreds of advocates, community leaders, donors, and neighbors, the first Roseland Library opened in November 2015.

Despite humble accommodations in a former furniture store, the Roseland Community Library was filled with books, DVDs, activities, technology, and the joys of learning and discovery.

Planning began in 2019 for a newer, better equipped library, with English and Spanish collections, public computers, free high-speed WiFi, plus a community meeting room.

A temporary full-service library on Sebastopol Road opened in September 2021, at 470 Sebastopol Road. This branch will allow us to grow as a center for education, learning, and lifelong success in the Roseland community.

A permanent home for a forever Roseland Library is the next step, and we are working closely with government and community partners to make this dream come true. The library worked with the City of Santa Rosa to choose a site on Hearne Avenue that can accommodate a fire station, community center, community pool, and large, modern library.
